In Jianyang, Sichuan, Li Xiang, manager of Panda Dingdong's Jiangshuiwan branch, leads a delivery team with a flair for showmanship: they deliver cakes, dress up as pandas, make balloon creations and perform as clowns. Beyond regular orders, they also host free group birthday parties for left-behind children and older people.
It all began when a neighbor ordered a birthday cake for a left-behind child. Since then, Li and his teammates have turned charitable cake deliveries into moments of companionship. They also formed the Qingxin Vanguard Team, a volunteer group involved in drowning-prevention outreach and other community services.
