At the greenery-embraced San Su Shrine, Ali encounters the first master: Su Dongpo. Far more than a literary giant, Su was also a true expert in medicine and wellness. From his “Four principles for Health Maintenance” to the famous Dongpo cuisine, the insights keep flowing. Next, at the confluence of the three rivers, Ali meets the second master: the Medicine Buddha. The mountains and waters of the Bashu region that surround the Buddha form a natural prescription in themselves, while Leshan’s local delicacies serve as a delicious footnote to this healing wisdom.
